Kepatuhan Diet Dengan Kualitas Hidup Pasien Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Teling Kota Manado

Abstract
Diabetes is increasing every year and is a chronic disease that has an impact on various complications in other body organs, both microvascular and macrovascular, which can reduce the sufferer's quality of life. This disease requires long-term treatment. and cannot be cured but can be controlled, one of which is compliance with a diet. This study aims to determine the relationship between dietary compliance and the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients in the Teling Community Health Center Working Area, Manado City. Methods observational analytical research with a cross sectional approach. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a total of 56 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Data collection using questionnaires. Data analysis using the chi square statistical test. Results the majority of diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of the Teling Community Health Center, Manado City, adhere to the diet with a percentage of 62.5%. and good quality of life by 64.3%. There is a relationship between diet compliance and the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of the Teling Community Health Center, Manado City (0.004 < α 0.05). Conclusions and Suggestions health workers as providers of health services to increase understanding by providing information in the form of education about the importance of diet in controlling patient blood sugar at each visit so that patients are motivated to follow the diet.
