Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Dengan Kepatuhan Minum Obat Pada Pasien Skizofrenia Di Poli Rawat Jalan Rumah Sakit Jiwa Prof. Dr. V.L Ratumbuysang Manado

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder that requires therapy over a long period of time. The patient's irregularity in taking his medication is one of the causes of repeated disease recurrence. Therefore, support is needed from the family as the person closest to the patient in monitoring, reminding and giving medication according to the correct dosage and schedule to speed up the healing process. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and medication adherence in schizophrenia patients at the Outpatient Clinic of the mental hospital Prof.. Dr. V.L Ratuumbuysang Manado. This type of research is observational analytic, with a cross sectional approach. The sample was taken by accidental sampling, the number of which is determined using the Slovin Formula, a total of 83 people who meet the inclusion criteria. Data was collected using a questionnaire, data analysis using the chi square test. Results The family support category was mostly good with 51 people (61.4), compliance was mostly in the obedient category with 47 people or 56.6. There is a relationship between family support and compliance with taking medication for schizophrenia patients at the Outpatient Clinic of the Prof. Dr. V. L Ratumbuysang Manado Mental Hospital (0.000 < α 0.05). Conclusions There is a relationship between family support and compliance with taking medication for schizophrenia patients at the Outpatient Clinic of the Prof. Dr. Becoming an educator for families, also providing outreach about the importance of the benefits of compliance in taking medication regularly to prevent relapse.
